The agreed fixed price is based on the scope of work and the conditions we record together during the on-site visit. That is why we take the time beforehand to plan your move as precisely as possible, so you know from the start what it will cost.
If additional work comes up on moving day that could not be foreseen, we always talk to you first, before any extra costs arise.

Moving in Cologne, from Rodenkirchen to Lindenthal
As a moving company based in Cologne, we work on both sides of the Rhine. In Ehrenfeld, Nippes and the Südstadt we often carry through narrow staircases in old buildings, in Rodenkirchen and Lindenthal it is more often houses with a garden and cellar. On the right bank, in Deutz, Kalk, Mülheim and Porz, we are regularly on the road as well.
Two things almost always make the difference: the staircase and the parking space. If a wardrobe does not fit through the stairwell, we use a furniture lift on the outside of the building. And in busy streets, a temporary no-parking zone decides whether the truck can stand right in front of your door. We sort out both with you early, because the permit needs some lead time.
What a move in Cologne costs
The price does not only depend on the size of your home but on how much work the move really is: the amount of furniture and boxes, floor and lift, the distance to the truck, parking at both addresses, heavy single items and how much assembly is needed.

By German law (§ 451e HGB), a moving company is liable for 620 € per cubic metre of loading space needed for the job. For a piano, a collection or very valuable single items, that may not be enough. Tell us about such items before we load, and we will arrange the right cover beforehand.
Frequently asked questions about moving in Cologne
How early should I book?
Once your date is fixed, you can get in touch right away. The end of the month and the months from May to September fill up quickly. Short-notice dates are still possible quite often.
Do you take my furniture apart and put it back together?
Yes. We can dismantle wardrobes, beds and shelves for transport and reassemble them in your new home. For built-in wardrobes and modular furniture we tell you beforehand how much time to plan for.
My staircase is very narrow. What happens then?
Then a furniture lift is often the answer. Sofa, wardrobe or washing machine go up or down the outside of the building, through a balcony or window, instead of being squeezed around tight corners.
Do I need a parking restriction zone for my move in Cologne?
A resident parking permit lets you park, but it does not reserve the space in front of your door. To make sure the truck stands where we load, we set up a temporary no-parking zone (Halteverbotszone). In busy areas like the Südstadt, Ehrenfeld or Nippes this decides whether every box has to be carried fifty metres. The permit needs some lead time, so we sort it out with you early.
What does the on-site visit cost?
Nothing. We come to you free of charge, whether in Ehrenfeld, Porz or Rodenkirchen, and look at your furniture, the staircase and the parking situation. Afterwards you receive a written quote and decide in your own time.
Do I have to pay anything before the move?
Not for a private move. Half of the agreed amount is due on moving day, once our team is on site and starts work. You pay the rest after the move, in cash or by bank transfer. Only boxes you buy are paid on delivery. For company moves, the payment terms are stated in the quote.
Do you also bring moving boxes?
Yes. We deliver the boxes in good time before your moving day so you can pack at your own pace, new for 3.50 € or used for 2.50 € each. We bring wardrobe boxes on moving day at no extra charge.
